Christian Schoyen’s mission is to transform the world by placing modern-day Vikings—high achievers who embody excellence and resilience—through best-practice headhunting and AI. A second-generation headhunter with three decades in global recruitment, Christian is the founder and CEO of ESR, which has placed over 5,000 top-tier candidates for Fortune 500 companies and government entities worldwide.
His executive search blueprint is outlined in his U.S. bestseller, Secrets of the Executive Search Experts, endorsed by Melanie Kusin, Vice Chairman of Korn Ferry, as “an excellent primer for search professionals.” His candidate assessment method, detailed in his Carl Jung-influenced book, Can People Change?, laid the foundation for LifeScript.ai—a predictive AI platform maximizing potential through algorithmic assessments.
Christian’s primary focus is recruitment and leadership at ESR, while his commitment to social responsibility is fulfilled through Neighborhood Rescue of America (NRA), ESR’s philanthropic arm. Drawing from his Norwegian Viking heritage, he integrates Norse principles into his life and ESR's GoViking talent community for former hires’ career growth.
NRA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to building safe, self-sufficient communities with no tax money. Christian developed the scalable Vegas Vikings model through NRA—a Viking-inspired game based approach to community transformation that bridges police and communities, rooted in the Althing decision-making philosophy. Achieving a 75% crime reduction in Vegas’s most dangerous neighborhood within 21 field days, this model has shown over 90% crime reduction in other cities. Documented in his multi-award-winning documentary Vegas Vikings and book Neighborhood Rescue 101: America’s Blueprint for National Security, it earned him an honorary award from the Las Vegas Mayor and City Council.
Within NRA, Christian co-created P.O.W.E.R., with Dr.TeNeane Bradford, a leadership program instilling Purpose, Opportunity, Wisdom, Empowerment, and Resilience to foster community and personal resilience.
A bestselling author, a futurist specializing in human behavior futurology and AI, and a speaker at major HR and law enforcement conferences, including SHRM and the National Sheriff’s Association, Christian shares insights on AI-driven recruitment, behavior, and community policing innovations. His new book, AI Policing 2030, explores AI’s role in community safety.
Christian holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University and conducted his African American Studies at California State University, Los Angeles.
